
Jeremy Morin Nets Overtime Winner for Barracuda over Wild

San Jose, CA - Jeremy Morin scored at 3:28 in the overtime period on the power play as the San Jose Barracuda (27-21-7-3, 64pts) presented by Barracuda Networks defeated the Iowa Wild (21-36-4-4, 50pts) by the score of 3-2 in front 5,502 fans at SAP Center on Saturday night in game three of a season long six game home stand.
Trevor Parkes and Ryan Carpenter also scored for San Jose while Aaron Dell made 29 saves in his 13th win of the season as the Barracuda broke a three game losing skid. Karl Stollery added two assists as the Barracuda continue to fight for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Trevor Parkes (14th) batted home a rebound past netminder Leland Irving at 2:15 of the opening period to give San Jose an early 1-0 lead. Ryan Carpenter (14th) stuck on the power play after a nice feed by Mirco Mueller at 14:14 to put the Barracuda up 2-0. Shots were 11-9 San Jose through 20 minutes.
The Wild fired 16 shots on Aaron Dell and tied the score before the second intermission. Brett Bulmer (3rd) struck at 8:00 and Christoph Bertschy (10th) tied the score at 2-2 at 10:34. Aaron Dell made several big saves in the period as the two teams were tied 2-2 through 40 minutes of play.
Neither team scored in the third period as San Jose outshot Iowa 11-5 as the two clubs headed into overtime tied 2-2.
After captain Bryan Lerg drew a penalty, Jeremy Morin (14th) netted the game winner at 3:28 to give San Jose the 3-2 overtime win at SAP Center.
