Ontario Reign Game Preview: Reign and Gulls Clash over Pacific-Division Points Tonight

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the San Diego Gulls tonight at 6:00 p.m. PT at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the 10th of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.
Comeback Kids:
Trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Reign scored the next five goals to defeat the San Antonio Rampage, 5-3, last night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
Backman Continues to Shine:
Forward Sean Backman scored his 19th goal of the season last night, is now riding a three-game point streak with five points (two goals, three assists) and has six goals and seven assists for 13 points in his last eight games. He enters tonight's contest tied for ninth in the AHL with 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists).
Series at a Glance:
The Reign hold a 3-4-1-1 record against the Gulls this season and suffered a 2-1 overtime loss last Saturday in Ontario in the last meeting. Defenseman Vincent LoVerde leads the Reign and is tied for the series lead with seven points (one goal, six assists). Gulls forward Chris Mueller also has one goal and six assists for seven points.
Home Ice Advantage:
The Reign are 20-6-3-1 at Citizens Business Bank Arena this season and 2-1-1-1 against the Gulls on home ice.
