Missouri River Otters News Release

St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that for the second time this season, goaltender Jason Tapp has been named the Southern Sport Supply UHL Goaltender-of-the-Week.

Tapp, 26, garnered shutouts in both of his starts last weekend. On Friday he made 21 saves against the Kalamazoo Wings, including a dazzling save on a shorthanded breakaway by Tim Turner. Tapp followed up that effort with a sparkling 27-save blanking of the Fort Wayne Komets, the fifth-ranked offense in the UHL this season.

"Things are going really well for the team right now," said Tapp, who has 11 shutouts in 96 professional games. "We've got a very good team here in Missouri, and I owe a lot of my success to them. The guys have been playing great in front of me, clearing lanes and letting me see pucks."

Hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, Tapp sports a 4-3-2 record this season with a league leading four shutouts, a 1.94 goals-against-average, and a 0.921 save percentage. It's the second time this season that Tapp has strung together consecutive shutouts.

"I would certainly hope he would win this award after two shutouts," River Otters head coach Kevin Kaminski said. "We're letting him see the first shot, he's not giving up any rebounds, and we're winning battles in front of the net."

The River Otters next game is on the road Wednesday, November 17 against the Flint Generals. The puck drops at 7:05 PM EST and all of the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Webcast located at www.riverotters.com.
