Wogtech Nets First Shutout In River Otters 2-0 Victory Versus Vipers

Corey Wogtech recorded his first professional shutout as the River Otters dominated the Roanoke Valley Vipers 2-0 Saturday night at the Roanoke Civic Center.

After a scoreless first period, the River Otters broke through in the second period when Lars Pettersen steamed up the left wing and buried a top-shelf slap-shot to give his squad a 1-0 lead. Through two periods Wogtech stopped all 18 shots he saw. Tim O'Connell added an empty netter to seal the deal as the River Otters picked up the victory. Wogtech made 25 saves for the shutout while Glenn Ridler made 34 saves in the loss.

The River Otters host the Fort Wayne Komets this coming Wednesday at the Family Arena. The puck drops at 7:00 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM and the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
