The Rockford Aviators (5-19) presented by Pearson chalk up another home, Friday night win as they topped the Lake Erie Crushers (10-15), 5-2, in front of a great home crowd.
Trevor Harden picked up his second win of the season, thanks to timely and clutch offensive hitting. Matt Greener cleared the 16-foot wall in left field in the fourth inning for his second home run of the year. His 2-run bomb put the Aviators ahead 2-0.
After surrendering a run in the top of the sixth, the Aviators scored three unearned runs to take firm control of the game, 5-1. The fourth and fifth runs were plated on Michael Hur's 2-out, 2-run double.
A pair of odubles in the eighth for Lake Erie scored a run, but would prove futile. Nick Cicio tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning and sealed the 5-2 win, picking up his third save in the process.
Rockford looks for it's first series-win of the season with a 7:05 p.m. showdown scheduled for Saturday night. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will get a free t-shirt, sponsored by UW-Whitewater.
