
Jacksonville Outmuscles Nashville in 7-3 Win

JACKSONVILLE, F.L. - Bryson Brigman and Charles Leblanc each hit a three-run home run Friday as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp ran away with a 7-3 win against the Nashville Sounds in front of 5,543 fans at 121 Financial Ballpark.
The Jumbo Shrimp (20-14) took the early lead in the bottom of the third. Joe Dunand led off with a walk and went to second on a single by J.D. Orr. Brigman (2) smacked a three-run home run off Nashville starter Dylan File (L, 2-1) to put Jacksonville ahead 3-0.
Nashville (22-11) plated a run in the top of the fourth. Keston Hiura (3) blasted a solo home run to continue his hot hitting to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Jacksonville responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Nick Fortes singled and Norel González walked to put runners on first and second. Dunand singled to load the bases and Fortes scored from third on a single by Orr to push the lead to 4-1.
The Sounds were able to plate a run in the top of the fifth to stay within two runs. With one out, David Dahl (3) launched a solo home run to make the score 4-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Jumbo Shrimp bats exploded again. Dunand walked to start the inning and Orr singled. With one out, Leblanc (7) smacked a three-run home run to pad the Jacksonville lead to 7-2.
The Sounds scored the final run in the top of the seventh. With one out, Dahl singled and scored on a double by Alex Jackson to cut the Jacksonville advantage to 7-3.
Bryan Hoeing spun six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts en route to his second Triple-A win. Jake Fishman allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work. Zach Pop contributed 0.2 innings with one hit, one walk and one strikeout. Robert Garcia allowed just one hit and issued two walks in one scoreless frame.
Jacksonville continues their series with Nashville Saturday with first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m. The Jumbo Shrimp will turn to RHP Edward Cabrera (2-0, 2.00), and the Sounds will counter with RHP Jason Alexander (4-2, 2.73). Coverage begins at 6:20 p.m. on ESPN 690, ESPN690.com, and MiLB.tv.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the club's first Saturday giveaway of May, with the first 2,000 fans receiving a Rex the Beach Blvd. Dino bobblehead giveaway presented by 121 Financial and RJ Young. It's also Girl Scout Night at 121 Financial Ballpark and fans will want to stick around after the game for Saturday Night Fireworks!
