May 13, 2022 - International League (IL)
Durham Bulls News Release
The Durham Bulls (14-20) defeated the Gwinnett Stripers (17-17) 6-3 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday night. With the win, the Bulls tie the six-game series at two.
Gwinnett got on the board first as SS Pat Valaika went yard on a solo shot. C Rene Pinto connected on a two-run double to put the Bulls ahead 2-1 in the first. LF Josh Lowe then went yard in the third for Durham, his third homer of the series, with a two-run shot for the 4-1 lead. Lowe would later do more damage in the fourth with an RBI groundout.
The Stripers would respond and halt the Bulls 5-0 run with a two-run double from RF Greyson Jenista to cut the deficit to 5-2, and LF Delino DeShields added an RBI single to trim the deficit to two in the seventh. Durham SS Tristan Gray would push the lead back to three in the eighth with a solo blast, his fifth homer of the season.
Durham pitcher Josh Fleming got the start on the mound, throwing five innings and allowing one run on three hits and five strikeouts, earning the win in his Bulls 2022 debut. Stripers starting pitcher Huascar Ynoa picked up the loss.
The Bulls return to Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Saturday, for game five of their series versus the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate Gwinnett Stripers. Bulls are scheduled to start RHP Kevin Herget (NR) and the Stripers are scheduled to send LHP Kyle Muller ( 2-1,3.16) to the hill. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
