Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that forwards Pierre-Luc Faubert and Brett Pilkington have been returned from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the Binghamton Senators (AHL) have loaned right wing Tyler Donati to the Jackals and defenseman Luke Fritshaw and goaltender Dan LaCosta have been activated off of the injured reserved list.
Faubert picked up his first AHL point with an assist in Bridgeport's 5-3 loss to Portland Wednesday while Pilkington was held off of the score sheet in the same contest.
Fritshaw, 23, started the year on the injured reserve list after sustaining a groin injury in the final preseason game October 15th. He returned to the line-up November 16th at Texas, but re-aggravated the groin injury and suffered a broken foot in a 6-3 loss to the Wildcatters and has been out of action since.
Riding a personal five-game winning streak, LaCosta returns the Jackals line-up having recovered from a severe ankle sprain sustained in the club's bus accident November 29th. In 11 games this season, the 2004 third round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets has a record of 5-3-1 with a 2.19 goals against average and a .934 save percentage. LaCosta was named the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the period of November 12th - 18th.
Donati, a 21-year old native of Oakville, Ontario, appeared in 33 games with Binghamton scoring six goals and totaling 13 points, 12 penalty minutes and -6 rating. In 252 games spanning four seasons of major junior play in the Ontario Hockey League, Donati collected 300 points. He finished his junior career by leading the Belleville Bulls in regular season scoring with 54 goals and 129 points as well as leading the club with 26 points in 15 post-season contests.
