DAYTON, OH (January 11, 2008) - Jim Henkel stood tall for the Trenton Devils, scoring twice in the third period to cut their deficit to one, but in the end quick-fire goals would be the deciding factor in Trenton's 5-2 loss to the Dayton Bombers.

Henkel score his first tally after the Devils entered the third period trailing 3-0. The veteran center found a feed from Andrew Leach at the top circle, and fired a wide-angle shot in at the net, beating Rejean Beauchemin to the left side.

The New Jersey native continued to cut the deficit when the Trenton found itself on the power play. Set up at the crease, the Henkel was in perfect position to swat home a rebound off of a Zach Tarkir shot.

Matt Rogers and Tony Zancanaro would also net assists for the Devils.

The Devils found themselves in a 3-0 hole when the Bombers opened the floodgates 13 minutes into the second period. Matt Beaudoin notched the first tally with a textbook power-play one-timer, while Brad Bonello and Mike Walsh knocked home goals less than a minute and fifteen seconds later.

After Henkel got the Devils to within one, Beaudoin's second tally on a quick transition play would all but ice the game.

Dave Caruso stopped 20 of 25 shots for the loss. Rejean Beauchemin made 30 saves on 32 shots to pick up the win.

The Trenton Devils soldier on to Wheeling, setting up for the first of two matches with the Nailers on Sunday, January 13th at 6:05pm EST at the Nutter Center in Dayton, OH. Tune into WBCB 1490 or go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
