Jackals Prepare For Second Half Of Home And Home With \'Hawks

October 25, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals, fresh off a 6-2 win over the Adirondack IceHawks, will travel to Glens Falls tonight to complete the home and home series. Game time is 7:30 pm.

Last night, the Jackals rode four first period goals to the eventual win, and also managed three markers on the power play to break a 1 for 29 skid, going 3 for 12 with the man advantage. Marco Emond made his first start for the Jackals last night, picking up the win by stopping 24 of 26 shots, making several key saves along the way, most notably robbing Frank Littlejohn in the opening minutes of the contest to keep the game scoreless.

The Jackals will be without Liam Garvey for tonight's game. The smooth-skating defenseman has left the team to pursue an opportunity in Switzerland, meaning either RC Lyke or Ryan Esselmont will see action tonight against the IceHawks. The Jackals also released Rob Frost prior to last night's game. Frost had one assist in four games with the club.

The ‘Hawks will be without Jason Bone for tonight's contest, as Bone picked up an instigator in the last five minutes of play during Thursday's contest. Other incidents from last night's game are under review by the league.

The Jackals and IceHawks will not face each other after tonight until November 9th in Glens Falls. Tonight's game is the third meeting between the two teams in the regular season, with a total of 19 games to be played. Puck drop is 7:30 pm, with the pre-game show on WiNGZ 104.9 at 7:05 pm. If you can't be at the game, tune it in live on your Home for Jackals Hockey, WiNGZ 104.9!
