Greensboro Generals News Release

GREENSBORO GENERALS

The Generals haven't played since last Saturday night, when they wrapped up a five game road trip with a 3-2 defeat at the Augusta Lynx. Trailing 1-0 in the second period, the Generals evened the score on a Sam Ftorek power play goal. However, Augusta regained the lead in the final minute of the second period, and then added a key goal early in the third for a 3-1 edge. Mark Turner cut the margin to one, but despite a 41-28 shot advantage, including 16-6 in the third period, it was not enough to earn the victory. Jamie Hodson made his Generals debut in goal, stopping 25 of 28 shots on the night.

READING ROYALS

The Royals defeated the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 3-2 in a shootout last Wednesday night, snapping a three-game losing skid. The Royals jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first period on a goal from Chris Bogas, but Atlantic City quickly knotted the score. The same scenario occurred in the second period, with Steve Rymsha putting Reading in the lead, only to lose it moments later. The third period went scoreless, but the Royals pulled out the victory with the game-winning shootout goal from Mat Snesrud. Scott Fankhouser played well in goal to pick up the win, saving 38 of 40 shots on the evening.
