Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, lost both games last weekend to fall seven points behind North Division leader Cincinnati and allowing third place Reading to pull to within nine points of the Jackals.

JOEY OLSON scored the hattrick and added an assist to lead the Chiefs to their biggest offensive output of the year in swamping the Jackals. CHAZ JOHNSON scored twice, his 16th and 17th goals, but it wasn't nearly enough for the visitors who also received a pair of assists from PIERRE-LUC FAUBERT.

The Royals burned the Jackals for five power play goals and a shorthanded strike to take the highly anticipated rematch of these North Division foes. Elmira faced a season-high 11 power play chances against while seeing its drought on the man advantage reach 17 in a row. BRUCE WATSON, back in the line-up after a 17-game absence (appendectomy), score the lone Jackals goal.

Valentine's Night with Pink Ice
The Jackals and the league-leading Wildcatters (81 pts.) meet for the fourth and final time this season. Elmira took two of three games in Beaumont back in November and is one of only two teams (South Carolina) to get both a regulation and shootout win at Ford Arena this season.

Jackals Candy Bar Giveaway
The Jackals and Gladiators close out a brief two-game season series that also marks the final non-divisional foe of the year for Elmira. The clubs met at the Arena at Gwinnett Center November 20th with the Jackals exploding for a five-goal third period to rally from a 3-1 deficit to win 6-3. The Gladiators begin the week in third place in the South Division with 61 points.

The North Division-leading Cyclones make their final regular season trip into Elmira with the season series sitting at 9-7 (standings points) in favor of Cincinnati. The teams have split four previous meetings in Elmira while after tonight, the Jackals head west to the Queen City for the two final games of the series February 23rd and March 28th. The Cyclones come to town with a North Division best 71 points in the standings.
