Augusta Lynx News Release

Despite the best efforts of goaltender #1 Gerald Coleman, the Augusta Lynx fell for the second straight game to the Florida Everblades on Tuesday night by a score of 5-1.

For the second straight night, it was Florida dominating early pumping 18 shots on Coleman. The first goal of the game, which has eluded the Lynx during the three-game series came on former Lynx JB Bittner's shorthanded breakaway goal.

The Everblades opened it up in the 2nd period with goals from Derek Damon, Brandon Roach and Brett Peterson. All were even strength and often times after Coleman had made some spectacular saves. Just 1:20 into the period heavyweights #6 Will Bodine and Brad Brown squared off in a tilt. The fight however did not charge up the Lynx who were down 4-0 after two periods. The Everblades made it 5-0 early in the 3rd period as Jaret Lukin scored on a backdoor pass. Bodine again engaged in another fight, this time with Ryan Van Buskirk, and seconds later #17 Jeremy Schenderling dropped gloves with Mike McLean.

The Lynx spoiled the shutout of Justin Peters with a goal from #25 Adrian Veideman, who received a pass from #21 Bobby Bolt, fired a shot on goal which was kicked aside by Peters, but the puck went directly off his defenseman and into the back of the net for the lone Lynx marker of the night.

Coleman faced a season-high 45 shots in the game and turned aside 40.
