Jackals face Idaho tonight

Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals continue their three game home stand tonight when they try to spook the Idaho Steelheads. The Jackals and Steelheads met up for the first ever time on Wednesday night, with Idaho winning the game 4-3. After the rough and wild game on Wednesday, the table has been set for a battle tonight at First Arena, the "Worlds Largest Halloween Party" kicks off at 7:35 p.m.

How They Match Up: The Jackals currently rank 4th place in the North Division of the American Conference at 3-3. The Steelheads occupy 4th place in the West Division of the National Conference at 2-1-0-1. Elmira is 10th overall in the ECHL while Idaho is 12th.

Key Players: Tyler Donati is atop of the ECHL in scoring with 14 points. (4G 10 A). Moises Gutierrez and Steve Yetman each have seven points. The Steelheads are lead by superb goaltending in Rejean Beauchemin and Matt Climie who are both in the top ten in goals against average in the ECHL. Marty Flichel leads the Steelheads in scoring with five points.(Flichel scored two goals and added an assist on Wednesday).

Specialty Teams: The Jackals moved up to (21st in the ECHL) in power play percentage at 12.5%. Their penalty kill is still tough at 84.6% (6th in the ECHL). Idaho's power play currently ranks (13th in the ECHL) at 17.9 % and their penalty kill ranks (19th ) at 75%.

NEXT UP: Saturday, November 1st, - The Jackals host Trenton at 7:35 p.m. , the Steelheads travel to Reading to take on the Royals, before making a stop in Trenton on Sunday.
