Jackals Announce Playoff Roster
April 2, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals announced their roster for the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs on Monday.
Playoff rosters consist of a maximum of 23 players - a 20-man active roster and a three-man reserve list. Upon submission of its roster, each member was required to include:
1. A minimum of 19 active and available players, and
2. A list of all other players who met the playoff roster eligibility requirements but were unavailable at the time the rosters were due to the ECHL office due to recall to the AHL or NHL.
Throughout the playoffs, but prior to the start of the Conference Finals, as the recalled players become available (due to assignment, release from PTO, or their respective AHL teams' seasons having ended), teams may supplement their playoff roster with up to a maximum of four players from their playoff eligible list. Once a team has named a total of 23 players to its playoff roster, or the Conference Finals have begun, its roster is then fixed for the duration of the postseason.
Below is the Jackals' playoff roster, consisting of 10 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders, and their playoff eligible list:
Forwards:
Rob Bellamy, Jean Bourbeau, Artem Demkov, Nick Dineen, Dustin Gazley, Alec Kirschner, Jordan Pietrus, Mike Radja, Kyle Reeds, Corey Tamblyn
Defensemen:
Matt Campanale, Mike Devin, Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel, Mario Larocque, Jimmy Martin, Craig Rivet, Jarrett Rush
Goaltenders:
Timo Pielmeier, Brian Stewart
Playoff Eligible Players (currently in AHL):
Evan Barlow (San Antonio), Josh Brittain (Syracuse), Louie Caporusso (Binghamton), Corey Cowick (Binghamton), Jack Downing (Binghamton), Josh Godfrey (Binghamton), John Kurtz (Syracuse), Nick Schaus (Syracuse)
The Eastern Conference regular-season champion Jackals will play the Reading Royals in the best-of-five first round of the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Jackals will host the final three games of the series this Friday, Saturday (if necessary), and Monday (if necessary). Tickets for Elmira's home games in the first round are on sale now. Fans can reserve their seats by calling (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visiting the First Arena Box Office, or logging onto JackalsHockey.com.
