
Thunder Signs Goaltender Cody Reichard

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced the team has signed rookie goaltender Cody Reichard (emergency conditions). Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Reichard, 25, will suit up tomorrow in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinal at Stockton Arena, where the Thunder faces the Colorado Eagles at 7:00 p.m.
The 5-foot-11 and 165 pound goaltender recently closed out a decorated four year career in college in Oxford, Ohio at Miami University (NCAA). He went 53-24-9 in 92 career games for the RedHawks with a 2.10 goals against average, .912 save percentage and tied the program record with 12 career shutouts.
Reichard was 9-7-2 with a 2.47 goals against average, .900 save percentage and two shutouts in 21 games as a 2011-12 senior.
As a 2009-10 sophomore, the Celina, Ohio native was named CCHA Player of the Year and a top ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in college hockey. He broke Ryan Miller's record with a 1.23 goals against average in league play and led the nation with a 1.87 GAA for the entire season.
Reichard was 19-4-3 with a .921 save percentage and five shutouts that season. He helped guide the RedHawks to a berth in the NCAA National Championship game as a 2008-09 freshman.
Game one of the Kelly Cup Playoffs (Western Conference Quarterfinal) begins tomorrow at Stockton Arena beginning at 7:00 p.m. between the Thunder and Colorado Eagles. The game will be carried online at StocktonThunder.com through AmericaOne via video (pay per view charge) and audio (free of charge). The 2012 Thunder Playoffs are presented by Midtown Optometry and iZon High Definition Lenses.

Current Thunder Season Ticket Holders receive tickets to the first two rounds of the Kelly Cup Playoffs in their ticket package.
