Watt Returns from Manchester

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, two-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, have announced that forward J.D. Watt has been re-assigned to Ontario from the AHL's Manchester Monarchs, and forward Spencer Asuchak has been placed on waivers.

Watt, 24, returns to the Reign from his third AHL appearance this season. The right winger played a total of 19 games with the Monarchs earning three points (2g, 1a) and 27 penalty minutes. While in Ontario, Watt skated in 30 games recording 14 points (4g, 10a) and 78 penalty minutes.

Last season, the 6-foot-2, 196 pound, Cremona, Alberta native played in the AHL between the Abbotsford Heat and the San Antonio Rampage. With the Heat, he tallied four points (1g,3a) in 27 games, and two points (1g,1a) in 10 games with the Rampage. Watt was selected in the fourth round (#111 overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Asuchak, 20, made his professional debut with the Reign for three games in March. Prior to making the trip to Ontario, the 6-foot-4, 210 pound left winger spent four seasons playing in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans and Prince George Cougars. In 224 WHL games, the Kamloops, British Columbia native recorded 95 points (49g, 46a).

In his final year of junior hockey, Asuchak earned a career-high 36 points (18g, 18a), tied the team lead for goals.
