Isotopes' Park Named on Most Vegetarian Friendly List

June 20, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Isotopes Park has once again been named to PETA's list of the Most Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Ballparks this season. This is the third time in four years that Isotopes Park has received this recognition.

Named number six on PETA's Top-10 list, the ballpark's "hearty meat-free fare spares the lives of animals, helps protect the health of fans, and makes Isotopes Park a leader in offering nutritious, humane stadium food."

The Isotopes are ranked highest among the three Pacific Coast League parks on the list (Sacramento River Cats - 9, Memphis Redbirds - 10).

PETA explained the Topes sixth-place pick, writing, "The Isotopes got their name from the long-running FOX series The Simpsons, and vegetarian Lisa Simpson would agree that the team has done meat-free fans proud. Albuquerqueans can munch on veggie dogs, bean burritos, Indian tacos (made with fry bread instead of corn shells), wok-fried noodles with veggies and teriyaki sauce, fresh salads, and fruit or vegetable trays."

In addition to the delicious and nutritious vegetarian items above, Ovations Food Services also offers gluten-free salad, ribbon fries with green chile and cheese, and baked potatoes with butter, cheese and sour cream.
