The Topes (14-11) won their second straight defeating Redbirds (13-11) in a 13-7 slugfest. C Tim Federowicz (4-for-5, 2B, HR) led the charge, knocking in four runs in the comeback victory. Alfredo Amezaga gave the Topes the lead on a sacrifice fly and Chili Buss pulled the club away with a three-run blast in a six-run seventh clinching the final game of April.

Isotopes starting pitcher Blake Johnson (1-for-2) showed off his wheels hitting, becoming the first pitcher in Isotopes history to rip an inside-the-park home run capping a four-run fourth in improbable fashion to give to Topes a 4-0 advantage. Prior to Johnson's trip around the bases, 2B Alfredo Amezaga (2-for-2, 3 RBI) hammered a two-RBI double into left field to put the game's first runs on the board.

With the Topes looking to add in the fifth 1B Scott Van Scott (1-for-5) singled with one out in front of catcher Tim Federowicz. The backstop promptly hit his first double of the season scoring Van Slyke on the play extending Albuquerque's lead to 5-0.

The Redbirds showed some power, climbing back into the game offensively in the top of the sixth inning. CF Oscar Taveras (1-for-5), the top ranked prospect in St. Louis' organization, led off the fame with a single and 1B Brock Peterson (0-for-4) was hit by a pitch. RF Jamie Romak (2-for-3) cleaned the bases with his fifth home run of the season. 2B Kolten Wong (1-for-5) drew Memphis within a run of Albuquerque, 5-4, with a RBI single scoring Chad Huffman on the play.

A three-run seventh inning gave Memphis their first lead of the game 7-5. LF Chad Hoffman (2-for-3) and catcher Travis Tartamella (2-for-5) each blasted home runs in the inning. Romak was on base for Hoffman's homer. The Isotopes wasted little time to threaten offensively a half an inning later. Monday night's walk-off hero LF Elian Herrera (2-for-5) and CF Matt Angle (2-for-5) singled in succession to begin the frame. RF Rusty Ryal (3-for-4) followed a Federowicz RBI single with a RBI double. Pinch hitter Chili Buss (1-for-1) delivered a three run homer into right-center field putting the game to bed after Amezaga gave the Topes the lead back on a sacrifice fly.

Federowicz blasted his third home run of the season plating two in the eighth to cap the night's scoring 13-7. Federowicz went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI.RHP Blake Johnson did not allow a run through his first five innings but could not get out of the sixth. Johnson surrendered three runs in the sixth all coming on Romak's homer. He allowed six hits overall, struck out five and walked one.

RHP Red Patterson earned the win despite allowing three runs. He is 1-1 with a 6.43 ERA. RHP Steve Ames fired a perfect ninth finishing the game. Southpaw Kelvin De La Cruz and RHP Steve Smith combined for two innings of relief. Memphis southpaw Tyler Lyons came away with a no decision but allowed five runs, all earned on nine hits. He walked two, struck out two and allowed a homer. Keith Butler (0-1, 7.20) suffered the loss allowing four runs.

Albuquerque and Memphis match up for the third time this season tomorrow, May 1 at 6:35 from Isotopes Park. The Los Angeles Dodgers LHP Chris Capuano is schedule to make a rehab start for the Isotopes against The Redbirds' southpaw Nick Additon (1-1, 4.74). Capuano is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA (5 ER/4.2 IP) in three games, one start, with the Dodgers this season. Catch all of the game action on 610 "The Sports Animal" with Josh Suchon on the call.
