Ryan Brasier to Make Major League Debut

SALT LAKE CITY (May 1, 2013) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Brasier from Triple-A Salt Lake. His first appearance with the Angels will be his major league debut. In addition, the Angels have reassigned outfielder Chance Ross to Salt Lake from extended spring training.

Brasier, 25, has appeared in 10 games of relief for the Bees in 2013, recording a team-high three saves with 12 strikeouts in 12 innings. In 2012, Brasier led Salt Lake with 55 appearances, 48 games finished (PCL-high) and 13 saves. The Wichita Falls, Texas native was added to the Angels' 40-man roster this past offseason. He was originally selected by the Angels in the sixth round of the 2007 Draft.

Ross, 23, begins his second stint with the Bees in 2013 but has yet to appear in a game. In 23 games with the Arizona League Angels in 2012, he hit .284 with three doubles, two triples and 12 RBI. The Tahlequah, Okla. native originally signed with the Angels as a nondrafted free agent on June 21, 2012.
