Isotopes infielder Josh Fuentes has been promoted to the Colorado Rockies and is heading to the Major Leagues for the first time in his six-year professional career.

Fuentes is coming off an award-winning 2018 season. The 26-year-old became the fifth player to be named both the Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Year and MVP while becoming the first ever to win the aforementioned awards and be selected as the Triple-A All-Star Game MVP.

The Orange County native led the PCL in hits (180), games played (135), at bats (551), extra-base hits (65), total bases (285) and runs scored (93). Fuentes' .327 batting average was sixth-best in the league.

Fuentes' 180 hits were the most in a single-season by an Isotope, the most in Minor League Baseball in 2018 and tied with Neifi Perez (1996) for the second most hits ever by a Rockies farmhand.

Fuentes proved himself valuable on both sides of the ball, leading the league with a .966 fielding percentage at third base, committing just 10 errors over 293 total chances in 110 games at the hot corner.

In 2019, Fuentes went 3-for-7 with all of his hits going for extra-bases in two games with the Isotopes. The 26-year-old homered in his first at bat of the season on Thursday vs. Salt Lake.
