Saturday's Chasers-Redbirds Game Suspended in 8th Tied at 3-3
April 6, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Saturday evening's game between the Omaha Storm Chasers and Memphis Redbirds at Autozone Park in Memphis, Tennessee, was suspended in the top of the eighth inning due to inclement weather with the game tied at 3-3. The contest is scheduled to resume on Sunday afternoon at 2:05pm CT.
Memphis plated the initial run in the bottom of the first thanks to RF Adolis Garcia 's run-scoring triple. Two innings later, 3B Ramon Urias smashed a two-run double to right, increasing the margin to 3-0.
Omaha, however, drew the contest even with a three-run seventh frame. After C Nick Dini drew a bases-loaded walk and 3B Kelvin Gutierrez scored on a force out, SS Humberto Arteaga laced a two-out single to right to tie the game at three before rain eventually forced the game to be suspended after seven innings.
Approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the suspended game, the Storm Chasers and Redbirds will face off in Sunday's regularly scheduled contest. Omaha is expected to give the nod to RHP Ben Lively , while Memphis is slated to send RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon to the hill.
Omaha returns to Werner Park to begin a seven-game homestand on Tuesday, April 9. First pitch that evening is set for 6:35pm CT.
Single-game tickets for all 70 Storm Chasers home contests can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office from noon until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at (402) 738-5100.
