From the Notes

Tocci Swipes Home: Nashville's first run of the night yesterday came via double steal pulled off by Willie Calhoun (2nd base) and Carlos Tocci (Home). It was the first steal of home by a Sounds player since Caleb Gindl swiped home on July 26, 2011 at Oklahoma City.

Santana's Smooth Start: INF/OF Danny Santana is off to a hot start at the plate with five hits in his first nine at-bats. After two hits Opening Day, Santana piled up three knocks last night and is one of three players in the Pacific Coast League with five hits early in the season (Ty France, ELP & Jorge Mateo, LV).

BB/K Ratio on Top: Through the first two games of the season, Nashville's walk/strikeout ratio is superb both ways. Nashville hitters have piled up a league-best 13 walks while striking out 14 times (2nd-fewest), while the pitching staff has issued only 2 walks (2nd-fewest) while recording 23 strikeouts (3rd-most).

Hearn and Jurado: If it starts with starting pitching, Nashville hurlers have made the opponent earn it in the team's first two games. Taylor Hearn and Ariel Jurado combined for 14 strikeouts while the opponent has zero walks.

Triple-A Debuts: Seven Nashville players have made their Triple-A debuts in the first two games of the season. The list includes Taylor Hearn, Eli White, Jose Trevino, Brett Martin, Miguel Del Pozo, Ariel Jurado and CD Pelham. Tonight's starter Wes Benjamin makes his Triple-A debut tonight.

Willie Walks the Line: Outfielder Willie Calhoun drew three walks last night after drawing two on Opening Day. The 24-year-old has traditionally had a keen eye at the dish with 167 career walks against 242 strikeouts.

The Nashville Sounds got their first win of the season, knocking off the Iowa Cubs 8-2 Friday night @nashvillesounds @milb #nashville #nashville_tn #615 @ First Tennessee Park - at First Tennessee Park https://www.facebook.com/127820250583382/posts/2388582697840448/ ...

For the @nashvillesounds, who collected their first win as affiliates of the #Rangers... Carlos Tocci went 2-for-4 and is 4-for-9 to start the season. Willie Calhoun went 0-for-2 but he has 5 walks in 2 games...he isn't known for his patience. Jurado: 5ip, 1r Pelham: 1ip, 0r

Levi Weaver (@ThreeTwoEephus)

The @nashvillesounds have done a great job with the Band Box area in right field. Shuffleboard, basketball, Jenga, basketball hoops, mini-golf, comfortable couches... pretty great fan experience
