Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
RENO, Nev. - Alfredo Marte and Andy Marte drove in two runs apiece in a six-run first inning and the Reno Aces didn't look back en route to a 9-2 victory Wednesday night against the Albuquerque Isotopes at Aces Ballpark.
The loss snapped the Topes (4-2) four-game winning streak.
The first seven batters of the game reached base safely for Reno (3-4) against starter Stephen Fife. Blake Lalli singled home the fifth run and Nick Ahmed's groundout scored another for an early 6-0 lead in the 29-minute first inning.
Fife (0-2) settled down and retired seven in a row later in the game but was chased in the fourth inning by an Ender Inciarte triple and Didi Gregorius RBI double.
In the fifth, Roger Kieschnick tripled and scored on Lalli's second RBI single of the night.
The only offense for the Topes came on a two-run,opposite-field home run by Miguel Olivo in the fourth inning. It was Olivo's second home run in as many games and he's driven in seven runs in 19 at-bats this year. The Topes bounced into three double plays and stranded 11 men onbase.
