Aces Announce New Partnership with Sierra Neurosurgery Group
April 10, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release
Reno, Nev.- The Reno Aces Baseball Club has partnered with Sierra Neurosurgery Group to make them the exclusive neurosurgeons of the Reno Aces, the club announced today.
Sierra Neurosurgery Group (SNG) is the largest private practice neurosurgery group on the West Coast. The deal makes the long-time practice the exclusive neurosurgery group for the team, helping treat and prevent traumatic, potentially debilitating injury to the players. Together, its 12 physicians have a range of expertise including complex brain and spine care, minimally-invasive techniques, pain management and peripheral nerve disorders.
Like the Aces, SNG offers a team approach to patient care, making the partnership a logical fit.
"We are very excited about our partnership with the Reno Aces as it allows us to not only care for this exceptional group of athletes but it also allows us to help spread our message of injury prevention through proper training, preventative care and education," said Dr. Lali Sekhon. "We look forward to making positive strides together with the Reno Aces."
The Aces wrap up their season-opening eight-game homestand tonight against the Albuquerque Isotopes at 6:35 p.m. Drew Simpson, a former star pitcher at Reno High School, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Simpson, a patient of SNG and Dr. Sekhon, suffered a nearly fatal traumatic brain injury in 2008, but thanks in part to the quick response and expertise of his neurosurgeon, is well on his way to recovery.
