AT THE DISH: Rio Ruiz extended his hitting streak to 12 games after going 1-for-4 on Thursday night ... Ryan Vilade finished the night 2-for-4, his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the year.

TOEING THE RUBBER: Starting pitcher Brandon Gold (1-5, 7.09) was the hard-luck loser, recording the Isotopes third quality start of the 2021 season (Kyle Freeland, José Mujica). Gold allowed three runs over 6.2 innings, striking out five and walking three.

TOPES TIDBITS: The Isotopes are 2-6 in series openers (2-2 at home) and 2-5 after scheduled off-days (2-1 at home) ... Albuquerque is 7-18 against American League affiliates.

ON DECK: In place of the decently DFA'd Ryan Castellani, right-hander Jesus Tinoco (0-0, 4.43) will get the start for the Isotopes. First pitch from Albuquerque on Friday is set for 6:35 p.m.
