Bridgeport Islanders News Release

The Oct. 3 game between the New York Islanders and the Boston Bruins saw a capacity crowd and one of the biggest ever to watch a hockey game at Webster Bank Arena.

A sellout of 8,600 people watched the final game of the preseason for the Islanders as they fell to the Bruins, 6-1.

"It's wonderful to see the support for the Islanders and Webster Bank Arena," Sound Tigers President Howard Saffan said. "It's not every day you have two NHL teams play here and we were thrilled to have both the Islanders and Bruins come out on Friday night."

Fans were able to get a first look at the new terrace suites on the third floor of the building, as well as the family suites on the Arena's fourth floor.

"This is awesome to see [the Islanders] here," fan Fred Coster said. "Great sellout crowd."

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers commence their season on Saturday, October 11, when they host the St. John's IceCaps. Tickets are available at the box office, at TicketMaster or by calling 800-745-3000.
