Anaheim Reassigns LaBarbera to Norfolk

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned veteran goaltender Jason LaBarbera to their top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), the Norfolk Admirals.

LaBarbera, 34, enters his 15th season in professional hockey and has played in the ECHL, AHL and NHL for six different organizations. He was named the Most Valuable Player and Most Outstanding Goaltender in the AHL with Hartford in 2003-04. LaBarbera logged the lowest goals-against average in the league (Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award) in 2004-05 and 2006-07 as well as his second Aldedge "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award (lowest GAA) in 2006-07. The third-round pick of the New York Rangers in 1998 tended the net in 182 career NHL contests.

The Admirals open the 2014-15 regular season this Saturday, October 11, against the Hershey Bears at 7:15 p.m. at Scope. Individual tickets and season tickets for the regular season are on sale.
