Minnesota Wild Reduces Roster to 24 Players

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reduced its roster to 24 players after the following transactions: forward Justin Fontaine has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, retroactive to Sept. 27. Forwards Cody Almond and Stephane Veilleux have been placed on waivers. Forwards Kurtis Gabriel and Joel Rechlicz have been reassigned to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has been released from his professional tryout with Minnesota.

Minnesota begins its regular season Thursday, hosting the Colorado Avalanche at 8 p.m. CT on NBCSN and KFAN 100.3 FM. FOX Sports North will feature hour-long pre- and post-game shows.
