IronPigs Try to Sweep Tides

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will go for the sweep of the Norfolk Tides in the series finale on Thursday afternoon. First pitch from Harbor Park is slated for 12:05 p.m. With a win, the Pigs will have their first four-game sweep since May 1-4, 2014 at Gwinnett.

LHP James Russell (2-2, 4.25) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series finale. Russell earned the win on Saturday vs. Buffalo when he gave up four runs on eight hits while walking two and fanning three in five innings of work. This season, the southpaw has held lefties to a .125 average (4-32).

LHP Ariel Miranda (1-7, 4.80) will be on the bump for the Tides opposite Russell on Thursday afternoon. Miranda got a no-decision on Saturday vs. Durham when he gave up one hit to go along with a walk and nine strikeouts in seven shutout innings. The Havana, Cuba native was tagged with the loss against the Pigs on June 1 at Coca-Cola Park when he surrendered five runs on nine hits in 4.0 IP.

After notching a pair of hits including the go-ahead RBI single in the ninth inning on Wednesday night, Pigs SS J.P. Crawford has now hit safely in nine of his last 11 games. During that span, Crawford is hitting .298-0-5 (14-47, 2B, 6 R).
