Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the finale of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd has won back-to-back games and are 6-3 in their last nine contests. The Bisons are also 17-8 in their last 25 games in downtown Buffalo. The Herd leaves on a six-game roadrip to Indy and Louisville tomorrow.

Last Game (BUF 8, LOU 1)

The Bisons used a seven-run, sixth inning to defeat the Bats, 8-1, last night. The Herd's most prolific inning of the season came after the first two batters struck out. DH Jesus Montero and C Tony Sanchez each had two-run hits in the frame. RHP Chris Leroux allowed an unearned run over six innings for this fifth win of the season.

vs. Louisville (2-1)

Buffalo will travel to Louisville Slugger Field next Monday for three more games, June 27-29. The Bats won the season-series last year, 4-3, but Buffalo holds the 249-185 advantage since the team returned to the Triple-A level in 1985.

Drew Hutchison

RHP Drew Hutchison makes his 14th start of the season today. The veteran struck out 10 IronPigs batters last Saturday in six shutout innings. The righty now has 33 punchouts in his last four starts (24.1IP) and a team-high 85 on the season (4th in IL). Hutchison is 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his last five starts.

Ben Rowen

RHP Ben Rowen has not allowed a run in a month and a half. The reliever has made 16 scoreless appearances since May 8, a stretch that includes 22.1 innings of work, nine base hits and 18 strikeouts. Rowen has allowed just two of 18 inherited runners to score.

Ryan Tepera

RHP Ryan Tepera has converted his last 10 save changes. In his last 12 outings since May 15, the righty has posted a 1.04 ERA with 18 strikeouts to only six hits allowed in 17.1 IP. Opponents are hitting just .196 off Tepera this year.

Junior Lake

OF Junior Lake has drawn nine walks and only struck out twice in his last seven games. He now leads the Bisons in walks (29) and runs scored (30) for the season. Lake has also hit in nine of his 11 games with a .414 average (12-29) and six RBI since June 12.

Bisons Bits

DH Jesus Montero drove in three runs last night to re-take the team RBI lead (41) INF Matt Dominguez (39)...With three hits and three walks over his last two games (8 PA), INF David Adams now sports a .406 on-base pct.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (40-34) earned a split of their two-game series with Arizona thanks to a 5-2 win on Wednesday. Toronto hit three more home runs with C Russell Martin, DH Edwin Encarnacion and SS Troy Tulowitzki all leaving the yard. LHP J.A. Happ struck out eight for his ninth win of the season. The Blue Jays are off on Thursday.
