Back-to-back doubles by Matt Mervis and David Bote scored Levi Jordan, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Mervis to give Iowa their first lead of the game, 6-4. The game was tied once again following a Malloy two-run home run. Toledo found themselves with a 7-6 lead with a Colt Keith solo home run, going back-to-back with Malloy in the bottom of the fifth.
