
Iowa Energy Fall to the Westchester Knicks

White Plains, NY - The Iowa Energy (6-9) fell 108-104 to the Westchester Knicks (7-12) Saturday afternoon at the Westchester County Center.
The Knicks were led by Langston Galloway with a team-high 17 points and Marcus Ginyard with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Damien Wilkins led the Energy with a game-high 27 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Diante Garrett added 16 points and Jarrid Famous had 16 points and 16 rebounds.
It was a close first quarter with the Energy and Knicks exchanging the lead four times. Orlando Sanchez would lead the Knicks with six first-quarter points to help the Knicks take the lead at the end of the quarter 28-24.
The Energy came out strong to start the second quarter. They quickly regained the lead and opened up an eight-point advantage mid-way through the quarter behind nine second-quarter points from Damien Wilkins. The Knicks fought back late in the quarter to tie the game 51-51 heading into halftime.
The Energy started the third quarter on an 8-0 run to go back up eight points. Westchester would trail for most of the quarter, but once again fought back late to hold a four-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter leading 81-77.
The Knicks would lead most of the fourth quarter with the Energy tying the game at 94 with 3:20 to play. Westchester then went on a 7-0 run to lead 101-94 with 1:02 to play. The Energy were not done fighting, hitting several big three-pointers to keep it a one-possession game in the closing seconds. In the end, the Energy would fall 108-104.
Iowa travels to Grand Rapids for a 6 p.m. game Wednesday evening before heading to Oklahoma City Friday night. They return home Sunday, Jan. 11 to play Idaho at 4 p.m.
