
Drive Defeat Skyforce to Take Second Game of Three-Game Series

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive (10-6) defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (8-9) by a score of 116-107 on Saturday night. The Drive have now won the first two games of a three-game series between the two teams that runs from January 1 to January 4, and continue to sit atop the Central Division.
Grand Rapids lead for the vast majority of the first three quarters until the Skyforce knotted the score at 67 halfway through the third quarter. But Grand Rapids responded with a 23-13 run to close the quarter, and went on to record their fourth consecutive win.
The Drive were again lead by the one-two punch of Adonis Thomas and Willie Reed. Thomas scored 23 points and Reed piled up 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting with 14 rebounds and four blocks.
Spencer Dinwiddie, on assignment from the Detroit Pistons, again made an impact, scoring seven points and leading all players with nine assists.
Shabazz Napier, playing on assignment from the Miami Heat, lead the Skyforce. Moving from the bench to the starting lineup for this game, Napier had 26 points to lead all scorers, and also had five rebounds and four assists.
Also for Sioux Falls, Scotty Hopson recorded 22 points and Tyler Johnson had 20. Napier, Hopson, and Johnson scored well over half of Sioux Falls' points.
The Drive were more effective both on the boards and moving the ball, as they outrebounded the Skyforce 47-40 and dished 25 assists to the Skyforce's 17.
These two teams complete their three-game series by heading to Sioux Falls on Sunday for a 7 p.m. Eastern showdown.
