Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends played their second of back-to-back games, hosting the Oklahoma City Blue in their third matchup of the season. After a fast start, the Legends went cold in the second half, falling to the Blue 95-110.
The game saw one lead change in the second quarter as the Legends handed over control to the Blue for the first and final time. The Legends took off to an early lead in the first behind 12 points from Ricky Ledo and saw as much as a 10-point advantage. The second quarter started with Texas up by 6, but Xavier Alexander knocked down consecutive shots to grab the lead for OKC. The Blue held the Legends to 18 points and 6 rebounds in the second quarter while powering out 35 points and 9 boards on the home team.
The Legends fought to overcome exhaustion after halftime, outscoring Oklahoma City 29-28, but the Blue had an answer for every rally. As the fourth quarter approached, Eric Griffin knocked down two of his 13 third-quarter points to cut the lead to eight. With seconds on the clock Maurice Sutton slammed one in to adjust the momentum for the final 12 minutes. The Blue spread the gap to as much as 15 before the Legends found a response. The double-team of Mike and Damion James cut the lead to five with four minutes left to play, but the Legends would fail to reappear on the scoreboard through the remainder of the game. After a 10-0 run, the Blue took home the victory 110-95 to take the lead on the season series two games to one.
Griffin led all scorers with 24 points while adding 5 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Damion James and Ledo added 19 points each.
Richard Solomon came off the bench to add 22 points, 12 rebounds for the Blue. Josh Huestis added the game's only other double-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds.
The Legends will play their next game at home on Friday, January 3rd at 7pm hosting the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The game will be broadcast live on television-KTXD47-and radio-KVCE1160am.
