Intimidators Come Up Short In 8-2 Loss To Power
June 23, 2008 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
The Intimidators (2-3) scored first on a RBI double from Mark Fleisher but it wasn?t enough in an 8-2 loss to West Virginia in front of 1,230 people on a Camp Day at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
Fleisher brought in Sergio Morales with two outs in the first frame for the game?s first run. Kannapolis wouldn?t score again until the fifth when Morales drove in Sergio Miranda.
In between those two runs, the Power scored four runs in the third inning off Intimidators? starter Lucas Harrell and four more in the fifth frame off reliever Johnnie Lowe.
Harrell made his first start in Kannapolis since 2005. He is rehabbing with the Intimidators after having his start rained out in Bristol (Appalachian League) last night. Harrell went 2.2 innings giving up four hits and four runs. He started the year in Birmingham with a 2-0 record and 1.38 earned run average in three appearances (two starts).
The Intimidators head out of the road for a six-game roadtrip starting with two in Lexington against the Legends. Kannapolis and Lexington meet up tomorrow night at 7:05pm from Applebee?s Park. Game audio can be found at intimidatorsbaseball.com.
While Kannapolis is away, Team USA takes the field at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Thursday against Chinese Taipei in an international exhibiton. First pitch is 7:05 with the gates opening at 6:00pm on a Thirsty Thursday. Call 704-932-FANS for tickets or buy them online at intimidatorsbaseball.com.
