Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Indians pitching staff again went unblemished as the team picked up its seventh shutout win of the season, comfortably defeating Durham 6-0 on Wednesday at Victory Field.

The Indians (14-11) have recorded shutouts in each of their last five wins and six of the last seven overall.

Wilfredo Boscan (3-2) continued his brilliant start to 2016, extending his active scoreless streak to 12 innings with six shutout frames today. He scattered five hits and struck out four.

Top Tampa Bay prospect Blake Snell (1-3) surrendered three earned runs through five innings for Durham (12-16), walking five and striking out four. He allowed just one run in his MLB debut against the Yankees on April 23.

Indianapolis got to Snell in the third inning, plating three runs. Back-to-back doubles from Alen Hanson and Gift Ngoepe came ahead of a dropped strike three and two walks as eight Tribe hitters came to the dish.

The Tribe tacked on insurance in the seventh and eighth, with the latter highlighted by an RBI double from Mel Rojas Jr.

Cory Luebke contributed three innings of scoreless relief to earn the save.

The Indians will return to action on Friday at 7:15 vs. Louisville at Victory Field.
