INDIANAPOLIS - Beginning with a home run from Josh Bell early in the game, the Indians never looked back as they toppled the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-2, on Tuesday at Victory Field.

Indianapolis (34-30) dominated the night with a total of three home runs and four doubles.

Recording his eighth home run in the second, Bell's efforts were added to with two more homers from Danny Ortiz and Gift Ngoepe.

Indians starter Frank Duncan (3-2) held the PawSox to just one run allowed in the fifth inning, while only issuing just two walks. Duncan finished the night with five strikeouts in six innings.

Duncan experienced a little bit of trouble in the fifth inning, allowing a single and a run. After two pitching changes, Justin Masterson was able to finish off the night in two innings, holding the PawSox (33-31) to one run in the top of the ninth inning, quickly shutting down any hopes of coming back.

While the Tribe took an early lead, Pedro Florimon expanded the gap with a two-run double late in the sixth inning. Florimon increased his RBI count to 13.

Though the Indians led throughout the game, Masterson allowed a walk and double in the top of the ninth, putting runners in scoring position as the visitors managed to recover a run.

With a final fly-out snagged by Ortiz, Indianapolis captured the first game of the series.

The Tribe will face Pawtucket once again Wednesday in a daytime match up (1:35 p.m.) when the Indians will look to claim the series.
