Ogden Raptors News Release
OGDEN - Ogden (1-4, 20-23) fought back from a three-run deficit three times, briefly taking a one-run lead in the seventh inning, before falling to Idaho Falls (4-1, 17-26) in eleven innings, 9-8.
Logan Nottebrok led of the top of the 11th inning with a triple. DJ Burt, who came in to pinch-run, then scored on Jeckson Flores' single up the middle on a 0-2 pitch from Rob McDonnell.
Nick Sell singled to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning, but was thrown out at second when Garrett Kennedy tried to sacrifice bunt. Scott De Jong struck out and pinch-hitter Jake Henson flew out to end the game.
Ogden's best chance came in the 10th inning when the Raptors loaded the bases with only one out. Matt Jones walked to lead off the inning and Jordan Tarsovich reached on a bunt single. Kelvin Ramos bunted both runners into scoring position and Chris Godinez drew an intentional walk to load the bases. But All-Star pitcher Tripp Davis struck out Deion Ulmer and Gage Green to end the walk-off threat.
Idaho Falls struck first with three runs in the second inning on an RBI double by Nick Dini and a two-run home run by Nottebrok.
The two teams traded runs through the next four innings with the Chukars holding a 7-4 advantage at the 7th inning stretch. The Raptors loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the 7th and Sell doubled home the first two runs of the inning. Kennedy tied the ballgame with an RBI groundout to score Ulmer, the fourth RBI groundout of the game for Ogden. The Raptors then took their first and only lead on De Jong's two-out infield single that scored Sell.
Davis (3-2) picked up the win, while McDonnell (1-2) took the loss. Ogden hosts Idaho Falls in the final game before the All-Star break at 4:00pm MT on Sunday afternoon.
