Helena Brewers News Release

The Helena Brewers (2-4) snapped their four-game losing streak with a 7-6 win on Sunday over the Great Falls Voyagers (4-2) at Centene Stadium.

Great Falls took the first lead of the game with a run in the top of the first. Johan Cruz singled to center to score Landon Lassiter who walked to lead off the inning. Lassiter went 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, and a run scored.

Jake Drossner (2-1) delivered another quality start for a Helena pitcher, giving up just one run over five innings of work. He would set a new season-high for strikeouts for a Brewer pitcher with nine over his five frames.

Helena would take the lead in the fifth with three runs and never trail again in the game. Jake Gatewood added a single and scored on the two-RBI hit of Mitch Ghelfi. Gatewood would go 3-for-4 with a solo homer, his fifth of the season.

The Voyagers would mount several late rallies, but fall short each time. Junior Rincon was brought in to close out the final out of the ballgame, striking out Lassiter to lock it up.

The Brewers now return to Kindrick Field for a four-game series with the Idaho Falls Chukars. First pitch on Thursday is set for 7:05 p.m.
