Ice Pilots Brodeur Gets Call to NHL, Dresses for Blackhawks

CHICAGO, IL - Pensacola Ice Pilots goaltender Mike Brodeur dressed in yesterday afternoon's Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche before a sellout crowd at United Center. Brodeur who was reassigned on Saturday by the Blackhawks to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, received the call to the NHL Sunday morning. He wore sweater #60, backing up starting goaltender Patrick Lalime. Chicago's top goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin is day-to-day with a right knee sprain.

Brodeur played 80 minutes with Rockford this season, going 1-0-0 with a 2.25 GAA and a 0.944 save percentage. The 24 year old native of Calgary, AB appeared in 18 games with the Ice Pilots, going 5-7-4 with a 3.18 GAA, a 0.909 save percentage and a shut out. Since his return from the IceHogs, Brodeur went 3-2-2 and was named ECHL Goalie of the Week for the week of February 4-10.
