TRENTON, NJ (February 18, 2008) - The Trenton Devils outshot and at times outskated the Johnstown Chiefs, but Johnstown capitalized on its chances to take another point in the playoff race with an overtime win against Trenton 4-3. Thomas Harrison's tally with 2:45 left in the frame forced the extra frame, but it would not be enough in the end to gain ground for the Devils in the standings.

Harrison, the big enforcer who leads the league in major penalties, flashed skill with the stick on a hard drive from the right wing point. The forward's shot rifled into and through the five-hole of Ryan Nie to tie the contest at 3-3.

The Devils were unable to gain the extra point in overtime, however, dropping to the Chiefs on a power play goal by Robby Drommond 3:06 past regulation.

Johnstown opened scoring in the game with two quick tallies. Mike Sgroi and Joey Olson found the back of the net 54 seconds apart in the seventeenth minute of action.

The Devils responded with fire out of the gates in the second period, when Eric Castonguay got the Devils on the board on a perfect play created by a hard hit taken by Brad Mills.

The center, viciously knocked and held into the glass by Justin Coutu, kicked the puck loose to Joe Rooney in the corner. With Coutu out of position due to his continued hold on Mills, Rooney had plenty of space to wing a one-timer to Castonguay for the Devils' first goal 1:33 in.

Matt Radoslovich made it an equal contest 23 seconds later with his second goal in as many games. The forward's recent surge has given the Devils a new weapon, and his snapshot from the middle of the slot on a feed from Trevor Kell behind the net made it two-all.

Jean Desrochers would put the Chiefs ahead 7:51 into the third on a transition play into the Devils zone, setting the stage for Harrison's tying shot.

Jason Smith took the overtime loss, stopping 17 of 21 shots; Ryan Nie earned the win with 32 saves on 35 attempts.

The Trenton Devils head out for a quick road trip to Elmira when the take on the Jackals tomorrow at 7:05pm at the First Arena. Go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
