LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs (13-13-3) found themselves in a familiar situation Wednesday night, falling for the third consecutive game to the Las Vegas Wranglers (23-4-2) by just a single goal. It was the 12th straight win for Las Vegas, which currently holds the league's best record.

After a scoreless first period, the Ice Dogs struck first at 6:45 of the second by Chris Kenady, from Mike Vellinga and Jimmy Bonneau. But just 32 seconds later, the Wranglers tied it up when Nick Anderson scored from Matt Dzieduszycki and Dan Tudin. Las Vegas then took a 2-1 lead at 12:39 on Marco Peluso's goal from Darren Lynch and Derek Edwardson.

In the third, Las Vegas made it a 3-1 game at 6:45 on the power play by Todd Alexander, from Edwardson and Peluso. With the goaltender pulled for the extra skater, the Ice Dogs' Mac Faulkner made it 3-2 with 16 seconds remaining, with assists to Sean McAslan and Christian Larrivee. The game ended with the same score, giving the Ice Dogs their 8th loss of the season at home.

Jaroslav Halak, seeing his first action as an Ice Dog since November 4th due to a groin injury and call-up, played solid with 36 saves despite the loss. Marc Magliarditi got the win for Las Vegas, making 30 saves. The Ice Dogs went 0-7 on the power play, while the Wranglers went 1-2.
