
Wranglers hottest team in ECHL with 12 wins in a row

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers tied the ECHL's all-time record for most consecutive wins on the road with the 10th straight victory away from the Orleans Arena last night. Las Vegas tied the 2000 South Carolina Stingrays for the longest winning streak on the road in ECHL history. The Wranglers will host the Utah Grizzlies on Friday night at 7:05 pm, where the team will look to remain unbeaten in regulation at home, currently the Wranglers are 12-0-1 at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas also chasing history as they've won 12 consecutive games. The ECHL all-time record for consecutive wins is 14, accomplished by the Louisiana Ice Gators (2001-02) and the 1993-94 Knoxville Cherokees. The 12-game winning streak is the longest in the ECHL this season.
Las Vegas currently leads the ECHL with 23 wins for 48 points and a .828 winning percentage. The Wranglers (23-4-2) own a five-point lead over Alaska for first place in the West Division. The Wranglers have not lost on the road since falling in Alaska 3-1 on November 19th. The Aces have kept pace with Las Vegas over the last month, as Alaska has a 13-0-1 record in their last 14 games played.
The Wranglers will have a chance to set two league records this weekend with a three-game series against the Utah Grizzlies (17-10-2). With a victory on Friday night, the Wranglers can tie the team record for longest unbeaten in regulation streak at 14 straight home games. During the 2003-04 season, Las Vegas started the season 13-0-1 at home before falling to the San Diego Gulls 1-0 on December 27th, 2003. With a victory in Utah on Saturday night, the Wranglers could break the ECHL record for most consecutive wins on the road. If Las Vegas wins on Friday and Saturday, the team could tie the ECHL all-time record for most consecutive victories at 14 and possibly break the record with a victory Sunday in Utah.
Las Vegas will host the Utah Grizzlies this Friday at 7:05 pm. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Duke Windup Toy, compliments of Cox Communications.
