San Antonio Missions News Release

SAN ANTONIO - Friday night's series opener between the San Antonio Missions and Round Rock Express at Wolff Stadium was suspended due to inclement weather. The Express lead the Missions 6-1 in the middle of the fourth inning. The game will resume on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 PM. The suspended game will be completed in its entirety. Sunday's regularly scheduled game will be a seven-inning affair.

The Express jumped on Missions starter Thomas Jankins in the first inning as the first six batters all scored. The onslaught was highlighted by a three-run home run from Taylor Jones and was followed up by a Kyle Tucker solo blast.

Nate Orf put the Missions on the board with his second consecutive lead-off home run. The Missions and Express traded zeroes the rest of the way until the game was suspended in the middle of the fourth inning.

The Missions and Express continue their four-game series Saturday at Wolff Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM. The Missions have not yet announced their starting pitcher. San Antonio native, Forrest Whitley (0-2, 7.71) will start for Round Rock.
