Hustle Earn Top Seed in First-Ever MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase Tournament

Memphis, Tenn. - The NBA G League announced today the schedule for the MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase Tournament. The Memphis Hustle earned the top seed in the Championship Bracket, of which players on the winning team will receive a $100,000 prize, and match up with the fourth-seed Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons) in its first game on Friday, December 20 at 9:30 p.m. CT inside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
The Hustle, who currently own the league's best record at 12-1, will then play either the winner or loser of Friday's matchup between the second-seed Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks) and the third-seed Salt Lake City Stars (Utah Jazz) on Sunday, Dec. 22 at either 6 or 8 p.m. CT. Under this year's new tournament format, teams were ranked 1-28 based on their records through the first 12 regular season games of the season. The top four ranked teams were placed into the Championship Bracket while the remaining 24 teams were placed into six four-team brackets. Ties were broken using head-to-head winning percentage followed by Showcase Points and point differential. A team received one Showcase Point for each quarter of each game in which it outscores its opponent and half a Showcase Point for each quarter of each game in which it and its opponent tie.
All games at the Winter Showcase will continue to count toward regular season records. ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN+ and NBA TV will broadcast the rest of the event while GLeague.nba.com will stream all games.
