Clippers Can't Keep up with Warriors

December 14, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-7) drop their second straight game, falling to the Santa Cruz Warriors (7-8), 130-114, on Friday night.

Agua Caliente came out of the gates strong, winning the first quarter 31-29 while shooting 11-for-17 (64.7 percent) from the field. However, their hot start quickly fizzled as a cold second quarter would help Santa Cruz carry a 16-point advantage into the half. Things would continue to go in favor of the Warriors the rest of the way, as they shot an efficient 64.1 percent from the field (25-for-39) in the second half and never let their lead drop below 12.

In the losing effort, the Clippers were led by Xavier Rathan-Mayes, who scored 26 points to go with four rebounds and nine assists. Donte Grantham would add 25 points and nine rebounds.

Ky Bowman led the Warriors with a game-high 27 points and 10 assists for the double-double. Jeremy Pargo also collected a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.

The Clippers look to return to the win column as they host a rematch against these same Warriors on Tuesday night. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. PST inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA.
