
Short-Handed Windy City Squad Loses to Austin 114-103

Windy City Bulls News Release
The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell short Saturday night against the Austin Spurs, 114-103.
Windy City had four rotation players out with Ferrakohn Hall, Darel Poirier, and Adam Mokoka each inactive for the contest, and P.J. Dozier currently recalled to the Denver Nuggets.
Both teams came out firing throughout the first half however, combining to score 117 points on efficient shooting both inside and from beyond the arc.
Austin shot .511 from the field using their size advantage down low with San Antonio Spurs Assignment player Luka Samanic and Drew Eubanks, a San Antonio Two-way player out of Oregon State.
The Spurs also knocked down 7-for-17 from three-point range in the half behind the marksmanship of Dedric Lawson and Notre Dame alum Matt Farrell.
Windy City shot .479 from the floor and .412 from three to carry a 61-56 advantage into halftime, led by Chicago Bulls Two-way player Max Strus with 12 points and five rebounds, and for Loyola Rambler Milton Doyle with ten points, five rebounds and three assists.
Shittu also contributed ten points, five rebounds and three assists for the Bulls and Bol Bol seven points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Samanic and Weatherspoon led the way in the first 24 minutes for Austin. Samanic dropped in 11 points and grabbed four rebounds, and Weatherspoon nine points, four rebounds, and four assists.
The Spurs continued to pound the lane in the third frame, as Samanic and Eubanks combined for 11 of the team's 33 points in the quarter. Austin held a 52-34 advantage on points in the paint leading into the fourth, also outrebounding Windy City 38-28 to take a 89-83 lead.
Multiple three-pointers by Samanic early in the final quarter helped stretch the Spurs lead to twelve as the Bulls shooting touch cooled off. Austin outscored Windy City 58-42 overall in the second half to pull out the 11-point victory.
Semanic dominated the second half for the Spurs on his way to 26 points, ten rebounds and two blocks. Weatherspoon finished with 13 points, ten assists and six rebounds.
Both Strus and Shittu had strong outings for the Bulls. Strus ended out with 23 points and six rebounds. Shittu recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds on 7-for-13 shooting.
Windy City (6-7) will travel to play the College Park Skyhawks next Tuesday before heading to Las Vegas for the MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase, December 19-22.
