CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (9-5), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, dropped a 3OT heartbreaker, 130-127, to the Wisconsin Herd (12-1) on Saturday evening at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. This marks the second 3OT game in Charge history, the last being an 109-106 loss against Delaware on November 15th, 2014.

Down by four going into the final quarter, Sheldon Mac and Sir'Dominic Pointer combined for 10 of the first 15 points with Newman tying the contest at 103-103 with just under five minutes left to play. Pointer converted on the traditional three-point play to force the overtime action.

The first overtime period was a battle as neither team held more than a one basket advantage. Pointer was steadfast from the line to even it up while Dean Wade came up with the big block to continue the action to the second overtime. The Charge battled until the end, but four unanswered points in the final 20 seconds sealed the game for the Herd.

The Charge came out fast, taking a 10-2 lead three and a half minutes into action. Canton kept the pace, holding an 11-point edge at the end of the first with Marques Bolden scoring 13 of the Charge's first 17 points on a 5-for-6 shooting line.

A Malik Newman three kept the deficit in double-digits at the 7:48 mark of the second, but the Herd answered with seven unanswered points to chip away at the lead. Both teams battled through the end of the half with Wisconsin taking a one-point lead at the break.

The Herd exploded in the third, opening the quarter with an 11-2 run. Sparked by an Alex Robinson layup, the Charge tallied 13 unanswered points with buckets from four players to come back within two.

The Charge had seven players score in double digits for the first time this season, led by 19 points from Wade on a 5-for-11 shooting and grabbed a team-high eight boards in 35 minutes of action. Pointer followed with 18 points, seven boards, and two steals off the bench. Bolden and Newman netted 17 points each while Bolden pulled down five boards and Newman dished out five assists. Robinson, Mac, and Tyler Cook each tallied 16, 15, and 12 points, respectively.

Wisconsin's Rayjon Tucker delivered a career-best 36 points on a 10-for-23 shooting in 40 minutes. Jermerrio Jones (13p/16r) and Luke Maye (14p/11r) both notched a double-double on the night. Jaylen Adams finished with 22 points and five assists in 40 minutes of action.
