Hudson's Three Hits Lift Cutters to Victory

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters improved to 8-7 on the season with a 5-3 win over the Auburn Doubledays on Friday night.

The visitors notched two runs in the top of the third, using two hits and a Cutters error to make it 2-0. Williamsport answered in their half of the inning on a two-out RBI single by Kyrell Hudson to trim the lead to 2-1.

The Doubledays made it 3-1 in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Adrian Nieto. The Cutters answered again on a double by Hudson and RBI single by Kelly Dugan, making it a 3-2 game.

Williamsport tied it up in the bottom of the sixth, as Francisco Diaz worked a bases-loaded walk to notch the game at 3-3. The home team then scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it 5-3. Brock Stassi and Hudson delivered RBI hits as part of the effort.

Juary Gomez pitched three shutout innings to close out the game for the Crosscutters.

The Cutters hit the road for two games in Jamestown, N.Y. before returning to Historic Bowman Field on July 4th for a 5:05 matchup versus the Jammers. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
